As many of you who have followed my blog for some time will already know, I graduated from college a mere seven months ago. 2014 has been the “year of change” for me. I finished my last semester of college, turned 22, graduated from college, found my dream job, moved home to San Francisco and found an apartment with my love. It’s been a whirlwind, but it’s been the best year of my life.

But here’s what I really want to talk about: balance. Juggling a full-time job, my blog (which could be a full-time job), my family and friends and maintaining a good relationship with my boyfriend (who I also live with) isn’t the easiest thing I’ve ever done. Sometimes it means long nights, extra hours, rushed dinners in front of the TV or groggy mornings from not enough sleep.

It also means sometimes my blog suffers —my relationships will always have to come first, and that’s just how it is. This year has taught me what matters, how to prioritize, when to stay up late and crank and when to give up, have a glass of wine, and enjoy my boy’s company.

In terms of logistics, I have spent every week working at Glassdoor. My job is the best experience I’ve ever had. I’m a part of the best Marketing team in the world, I’m convinced. I handle social media and the blog and I get to spend every day doing what I love, while getting paid.

Nights and weekends are for everything else — taking blog photos, putting together posts, responding to emails, spending time with my friends, family and Josh, and getting in some “me” time. Sometimes it feels like every minute is scheduled and there’s always a task, but I’ve learned to enjoy the little moments — when josh and I walk down the street to grab a slice at our favorite pizza place, when my dad cooks dinner for us at his place, when I have a whole weekend day to spend getting my nails done, laying on the couch or reading a good book. It’s all about the balance — being hectic all day and then taking half an hour to focus solely on what really matters.

How do you balance everything in your life?
